The Courts Absolve Santander From Paying an Extra €60 million to Repurchase its HQ in Boadilla

A commercial court in Madrid has dismissed the petition filed by The Carlton Group.

The Mercantile Court No. 9 in Madrid has absolved Banco Santander from paying between 60 and 90 million euros, as requested by the advisor to the sale of its Ciudad Financiera in Boadilla, according to reports from several media outlets.

The North American broker The Carlton Group had asked Santander for a commission of up to 90 million euros for the repurchase that it mediated, in 2020, of the bank’s large headquarters in Madrid. The court has acquitted Santander and demanded that The Carlton Group pay all the legal costs associated with the process.
