Sacyr Ingeniería e Infraestructuras will be in charge of the construction of the addition to the Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre in Madrid for the technical and hospitalisation block. The works will last for 38 months and are projected to cost 227 million euros.
The new building will have 740 medical-surgical rooms for adults and children. Among its new features are its flexibility, as it can be used as a double or single room depending on care needs, and the special characteristics of some of them, which allow isolation, the administration of radioactive treatments and patient monitoring, among other advantages.
It will also have 40 operating theatres and areas for major outpatient surgery, resuscitation and intensive care – 150 beds for adults, children and neonates – among other important facilities.
