Lidl has announced that it would expand its headquarters in the Barcelona town of Montcada i Reixac. The project will involve an investment of 19 million euros. It will add more than 12,000 m2 of facilities to the distribution company’s national headquarters, practically doubling its current surface area (from 15,000 m2 to 27,000 m2).
Following its completion in the summer of next year, Lidl estimates that the new work centre will have the capacity to accommodate more than 1,000 professionals.
Since its arrival in Montcada i Reixac 18 years ago, Lidl has invested some 150 million euros in building its head offices, a warehouse and a shop and developing the area in which it operates.
