Investment in Offices Fell by 48% to €2 Billion in 2020

Sources at the consultancy firm KF forecast that office rentals will increase by between 20% and 25% this year, boosted by the vaccination campaign.

During 2020, investment in offices in Spain was affected by the impact of Covid and the consequent increase in remote working. Office investment amounted to 2 billion euros compared to the 3.84 billion euros registered in 2019, although the impact of Covid was less marked in Madrid, according to the Office Report 2021 published by the consulting firm Knight Frank.

Although the volume of investment registered in 2020, around 2 billion euros, was significantly lower than that recorded during the previous year, –a drop of 48% YoY– it should be noted that the figure registered during 2019 represented a historical high.
