House sales rose by 14.7% year-on-year in 2022, to 649,494 units, according to data published on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics.
Specifically, 92.2% of the homes sold last year were private properties, while the remaining 7.8% were protected (subsidised). The number of private homes sold increased by 15.6% compared to 2021, whilst the number of protected homes sold rose by 4.8%.
