According to the National Statistics Institute (INE), Spain played host to 434,362 international tourists in January, a precipitous decline from the year before (-89.5%). The current situation, which has been going on since March last year, has weakened the tourism sector in general and holiday rentals in particular.
According to Francisco Nomdedeu Maristany, member of the General Council of COAPI of Spain: “Owners have had to look for solutions to continue obtaining profitability on their properties, so many have converted their tourist rentals to conventional rentals.”
