Specifically, and after several weeks of negotiation, the Council of Ministers has agreed to suspend evictions for the duration of the State of Emergency, with a forecast deadline of 9 May.
In addition to the extension of that term, what are the other features of the new bill? The decree extends the suspension of evictions to all vulnerable people and not only those who are vulnerable due to Covid, which was the case until 31 January. In other words, the mass of potential tenants who may benefit from the measure will increase substantially, if they argue that their situation pre-dates the pandemic.
