The Association of Rental Home Owners (Asval) is asking the central government and the autonomous regions to “urgently accelerate and increase” the different lines of aid for tenants who are in situations of economic vulnerability caused by Covid-19. The slowdown in the economy, as a result of the State of Emergency, has tripled the number of defaulted rental payments, according to its data.
Following the application of the measures to curb the pandemic, which have paralysed the economy and forced a significant number of companies to launch ERTEs, there has been an increase in the number of defaulted payments from 5% to 15%, according to the analysis. This phenomenon is also affecting houses that are owned, which is worrying the banks.
