According to the firm, Freo has launched a new fund with the aim of investing €400 million in hotels in Spain over the next three years.

The fund manager is currently negotiating several transactions on assets, looking to make significant investments to reposition them.

Specifically, the asset manager is looking to invest in urban hotels in Barcelona and Madrid and tourist regions such as the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands, and the Costa del Sol.

Freo, which is looking for well-located assets with the potential to increase their value through management, has created a new platform, led by Andrew Hunter, to invest in hotels on a pan-European basis. In addition to Spain, the management company is looking for new opportunities in other European countries such as the United Kingdom, France and Italy.

Freo España began operating in 2015. Led by Daniel Mayans, it has closed around €750 million in transactions.
