Overnight Hotel Stays Plummeted by 86.5% in February and RevPOR Fell by 28%

Overnight stays in hotel establishments exceeded 2.3 million in February, representing a drop of 86.5% compared to the figure registered during the same month a year earlier, as reported on Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

With this decrease, the number of hotel stays has now recorded twelve consecutive months of falls. The downward trend began in March 2020 with the outbreak of the Covid-19 crisis in Spain. Furthermore, the 86.5% decrease in overnight hotel stays is the largest YoY reduction since June last year.
