Airbnb, the digital platform that connects suppliers and potential occupants of tourist rentals, is going to eliminate 969 adverts for illegal tourist apartments at the request of Barcelona City Council.
The City Council has detected advertisements with irregularities corresponding to 524 entire flats, which either do not have a license or that have a false license, as well as 445 rooms, which are actually whole houses divided into hostel-style rooms. Most of the illegal homes advertised are located in the districts of Ciutat Vella (420) and L’Eixample (273).
