2021 saw a series of corrections in the residential rental market. According to a report prepared by Servihabitat, the rental housing stock in Spain has fallen by 31.5% since September 2020.
Specifically, the total stock of housing for rent has decreased to 92,000 units. On average, rental properties generate a return of 6.1%. Moreover, the average rent for a home measuring 80-90 square meters amounts to 826 euros, or 9.7 euros per square meter, which is 6.7% lower than at the end of 2020.
The report from Servihabitat reveals that 19% of the Spanish population is currently living in a rental property, with an average age for Spanish tenants of 33.4 years.
