On Tuesday, the Council of Ministers gave the green light to the report detailing the General Guidelines for the Sustainable Development Strategy for 2030. The text has been prepared by the Second Vice-Presidency of Pablo Iglesias and, by way of a surprise, includes the commitment to regulate rental prices.
The document insists that the future Housing Law, which is currently being negotiated between the PSOE and Podemos from opposing positions, should enable autonomous regions and city councils to «declare areas with ‘highly-sought-after markets’, where there have been abusive rental price increases to facilitate their regulation”.
