The non-performing loan (NPL) ratio has continued its downward trend of recent years to fall below 4%, thanks to a decrease in doubtful loans, according to the consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal in its fifteenth edition of the report The Pulse of Spain’s banks.
The study, which analyses the evolution of the ten main Spanish banks in terms of growth, liquidity, efficiency, risk, profitability and solvency throughout the year 2021, indicates that the main Spanish financial entities maintained a downward trend in terms of doubtful loans last year with the lowest figures recorded for five years.
