Spain needs 1.2 million additional homes between now and 2030 to alleviate the imbalance between supply and demand in highly-populated cities, according to conclusions drawn by Savills Aguirre Newman and Garrigues at a recent event entitled “The future of build to rent, market outlook and tax aspects”.
Experts have advocated the need to maintain a stable and attractive tax regulation for investors. During his speech, Jaime Pascual-Sanchiz, CEO of Savills Aguirre Newman, highlighted that, in terms of BTR, «Spain’s residential sector needs to overcome various social, economic and professional challenges if it is to follow in the footsteps of other, more developed, markets in Europe».
