Banco Sabadell has disposed of three different portfolios with a total nominal value of around 1.25 billion euros, whilst BBVA has carried out a single operation to sell a portfolio valued at 600 million euros.
NPLs will be released onto the market in 2021, just like in 2020, as a solution to the current failure by the European Union to create a community “bad bank”. A sale is the best solution for the banks to clean up their balance sheets, according to several real estate experts speaking at the most recent DD Talks meeting.
