Russia’s invasion of Ukraine could have an effect on the housing market in Spain, especially in certain coastal areas where the presence of Russian citizens is more than notable.
In municipalities such as Castell-Platja d’Aro and Lloret de Mar, in the province of Girona; Finestrat, in Alicante; and Benahavis, in Málaga; Russia’s population accounts for more than 5% of the total, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) compiled by the real estate big data platform Brains Real Estate.
