The home repositioning market accounted for 78% of residential real estate transactions last year, according to data collected by the platform Alfa Inmobiliaria.
According to the company, on average, a family lives in three homes during its lifetime. In this sense, Jesús Duque, Vice President of Alfa Inmobiliaria, indicated that, “the first home is the one we acquire when we move out from living with our parents; the second is the one we move to to adapt to the arrival of children; and the last one is generally acquired when the children leave home and the parents decide to move to a smaller, more central home or a home in a better location to spend their retirement years.
