Last year was a good year. A great year, even. Two of the largest consultancies, Savills and BNP Paribas Real Estate, agree that investment in the Spanish real estate sector during 2022 reached record numbers and exceeded 15 billion euros in total. That figure represented an improvement of around 30% compared to 2021 (depending on which data we consider).
In this way, Savills refers to a historical annual record in terms of direct investment, which exceeded 15.2 billion euros, 22% more than the previous maximum of 12.5 billion euros registered in 2018 and 27% more than the total for 2021. This analysis takes into account transactions involving individual assets and real estate portfolios in the residential and tertiary sectors, but does not include land or corporate operations.
