Real estate operations have suffered a decline as a result of the Covid crisis and some banks are reluctant to grant loans due to the uncertainty that continues to prevail around the globe. Nevertheless, Spanish financial institutions have risen to the top due to the volume of financing they granted to the sector.
In this way, Santander led the ranking of real estate financing in 2020 with 699 million euros loaned through fourteen operations. It was followed by Natixis with 540 million euros loaned through six operations, according to Expansión.
