In June, the month that saw the end of the State of Emergency due to the coronavirus, the number of overnight stays in non-hotel tourist accommodation – apartments, campsites, rural tourism accommodation and hostels – exceeded 1,975,000, which represented a decrease of 84.6% compared to those registered during the same month in 2019, according to data published by the INE on Friday.
In this sense, in May, non-hotel tourist establishments registered visits from 42,150 travellers who made more than 295,000 overnight stays, down by 96.8% in interannual terms.
