The alternative investment management firm Meridia Capital Partners has bought a 25,000-square-metre warehouse in Gelida, Barcelona. The asset was acquired in a public auction from the Sociedad Mercantil Estatal de Gestión Inmobiliaria de Patrimonio. The warehouse was formerly a distribution centre of a food sector company. Knight Frank advised on the transaction.
The asset includes loading bays on three of the building’s four fronts and will undergo a comprehensive renovation by Meridia. The facility will subsequently be put up for lease.
Alejandro Vega-Penichet, the director of Knight Frank’s Industrial and Logistics Department, said that the warehouse’s acquisition represents a good opportunity for Meridia «in a scarce market such as Barcelona.»
