Meliá will exercise its right of first refusal on the Hotel Apolo in Barcelona, according to Expansión, which cites sources familiar with the negotiations. The Palma de Mallorca-based hotel company currently manages the establishment under a long-term contract.

The hotel, owned by US investment fund Värde Partners, has a firm offer of 96 million euros from the Canadian fund Brookfield. Meliá will match the price. Sources at Meliá have neither confirmed nor denied this information to Brainsre.news.
