The consultancy firm Colliers has prepared a report on the logistics sector in which it reported investments of 164 million euros in the first quarter of 2021. Of the total, 60% corresponded to purchases of land for industrial use.
In the first three months of the year, 343,000 square metres and 241,000 square metres were contracted in Madrid and Barcelona. Profitability in both cities remained stable. Rents stood at approximately 5.40 euros per square metre per month in Madrid and 7 euros in Barcelona.
The e-commerce giant Amazon was responsible for 50% of the contracting in Barcelona. The multinational contracted 100,000 square metres in the Far Vilamalla Industrial Estate and 12,000 square metres of property in Segro in Mollet del Vallés.
