
Stoneshield, a manager founded by Juan Pepa, Felipe Morenés and Ana Botín, is planning to mobilise an investment of 750 million euros to build the largest data centre in Spain, according to the newspaper Voz Pópuli.
150 million euros have already been invested in the project, which is located in San Fernando de Henares and which has the backing of Warren Buffett. The initiative is seeking to establish itself as an American-style data centre campus. It aims to be fully sustainable from an energy perspective, offer rapid access to the Madrid-Barcelona highway and serve multiple important clients, the so-called hyperscalers, similar to companies such as Facebook, Google, Amazon and IBM.
