The food segment maintained its upward trend in 2021, registering the second-highest figure in the historical series (452 million euros). In this way, the acquisition of real estate assets, such as supermarkets and the like, accounted for more than half of total investment in the traditional retail segment, according to the latest Food Distribution in Spain report prepared by Savills.
These figures are only exceeded by those registered during the boom of 2020 when 675 million euros was invested.
