House sales decreased by 15.4% in January compared to the same month in 2020, to each 39,753 operations. However, that figure represents the highest absolute number of monthly sales since February last year, before the outbreak of the Covid-19 crisis, according to data published on Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
Following this year-on-year decrease, the two consecutive months of positive rates came to an end after rises of 1.9% in November and 3.7% in December.
