
During the second quarter, when Spain was immersed in the middle of the Covid pandemic, house sales fell in every autonomous region by 48.2% on average, according to data from the General Council of Notaries.
In some regions, the volume of transactions fell by more than 55%. Specifically, in the Canary Islands, house sales plunged by 64% in interannual terms; followed by the Balearic Islands, with a decline of 56.9%; and the Community of Valencia, with a drop of 54.7%.
