The total investment volume of the hotel sector in 2021 amounted to 3.19 billion euros, a figure three and a half times higher than that registered in 2020, according to the consultancy Christie & Co.
“The high number of core operations and prime assets sold, mainly in sale & leaseback and sale & management back structures, was one of the main reasons for the high volume of investment. In fact, strong competition for these high-quality assets pushed room prices up to historically high levels, beating even the million-euro mark in luxury hotel transactions in Madrid,» say sources at Christie & Co.
