Valencia Football Club has broken the agreement with the cooperative that was going to acquire the plots of the former Mestalla stadium. The planned sale, which was expected to raise around €140 million was going to allow the club to restart work on the Cortes Valencianas stadium.
The club has released a statement stating that “by mutual agreement, both parties have agreed that the circumstances for the formalisation of the operation do not exist, since the material conditions agreed for its execution within the established deadlines have not been met.”
This means that the cooperative, ADU Mediterráneo, has lost its exclusivity rights; in fact, Valencia FC has reported that it is now looking for alternatives for the sale and construction of the new stadium.
