Up to five candidates are bidding in one of Spain’s biggest real estate operations of the year.
Shopping centres seem to be reviving. Taking advantage of the investor appetite for shopping centres in 2022, Unibail Rodamco Westfield (URW) has put the Splau Shopping Centre up for sale.
Five finalists are still bidding in what will be one of the biggest real estate operations of the year.
According to what market sources have told Brainsre.news, URW decided that it was a good option to sell this asset because it is one of the smallest in its portfolio, has been on the balance sheet for several years and has accumulated limited capital gains.
The Splau Shopping Centre was opened in 2010 and was refurbished in 2012 and 2017. It has a surface area of over 54,500 square metres, with more than 100 shops, 30 restaurants, a supermarket, cinema, bowling alley, games room and a car park with 3,000 parking spaces. The tenants include Zara, Levis, Mango, Oysho, Springfield, Stradivarius and Bershka. There are also Burger King, Ginos, McDonald’s, Starbucks and a Danone yoghurt shop.
