The Único Hotels group, owned by the Guardans family, has sold the Grand Hotel Central in Barcelona for 85 million euros. The transaction is the company’s second in 2021, after selling another hotel in Madrid last February.
The institutional investment management firm York Capital acquired the property for approximately 575,000 euros per room. The Grand Hotel Central, located on Via Laietana, is a 5-star, 147-room facility, according to Ejeprime.
Único Hotels will continue to operate the asset under a long-term lease. The group has also included repurchase options for the property in the contract.
