The Catalan Federation of Tourist Apartments (Federatur) calculates that annual turnover may fall by up to 85% as a consequence of the Covid-19 health crisis.
During this first phase of the crisis, the losses already amount to around €852 million in an autonomous region where the turnover reaches around €1,542 million. Furthermore, the forecasts remain pessimistic as that figure is expected to continue increasing. According to Federatur’s report, the most affected city is Barcelona, with an impact of 71.9%, followed by Tarragona (42.5%), Lérida (39%) and Gerona (35.6%).
