The Time it Takes to Sell a Home Soars by 41%, But Prices Remain at an All-Time High

Despite the fact that it is taking longer to sell homes since the outbreak of the pandemic, sellers are reluctant to lower prices. The national average price stands at 1,796 euros / m2, which is the highest it's been for five years, according to data from Brainsre.

The Covid-19 crisis has changed the real estate sector in many aspects, since it has caused a slowdown in the sale of homes and has boosted the rental business. As a consequence, the average publication time of properties for sale in Spain has increased considerably.

According to data from the real estate big data platform Brainsre, collected from more than a hundred portals and real estate agencies, the average publication time of a home for sale in Spain was 5.5 months during the fourth quarter of 2020.
