In 2022, the Spanish logistics sector increased its turnover by 6.3% compared to 2021, without counting the assets included in the Montepino portfolio operation. The forecast for the full year stands at 1.9 billion euros.
The new development in 2022 was the expansion of the map of institutional investment across the Spanish market. Data from Savills indicates an opening up in terms of the locations preferred by investors. The main markets of Madrid and Cataluña accounted for 69% of the volume and 54% of the assets transacted across the country, but there was a notable increase in logistics investment in provinces such as Valencia, Sevilla, Vizcaya and Zaragoza, which had not been prolific in this sector previously, as well as in more decentralised areas such as Burgos and Galicia.
