The Secretary General for Housing, Helena Beunza, has announced her resignation on social media as the person responsible for this area in the Executive chaired by Pedro Sánchez. Through a message on Twitter, Beunza announced her departure from the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and the Urban Agenda, which is led by José Luis Ábalos. No official announcement has yet been made regarding her successor.
Born in Valencia in 1973, Helena Beunza holds a degree in Law from the ‘Universidad de Valencia’ (UV) and has worked as a local civil servant since 2001. Before taking up her role as the Head of Housing for the national Executive, Beunza worked in both the public and private sectors as a lawyer specialising in urban planning, real estate and the environment in a number of firms, both domestic and international.
