The PSOE Proposes Not Limiting Rental Prices & Instead Offering IRPF Reductions of Up To 90%

Mitma proposes reducing the personal income tax by up to 90% for owners who reduce the rent of their homes by 10% and mobilising empty flats with discounts of up to 50% on the IBI fee.

The measures to lower rental prices in highly sought-after residential areas continue to be a source of conflict between the PSOE and Unidos Podemos government coalition partners in the context of their negotiations regarding the State Housing Act.

In this sense, the legislative proposal from the Ministry for Mobility, Transport and the Urban Agenda (Mitma) involves a reduction of up to 90% in the personal income tax for those owners who reduce the rent in the rental contracts of their homes by more than 10% in sought-after areas, compared to the previous contract.
