The Prices of New Homes Resist Covid and Continue to Rise

New build apartments in the Balearic Islands cost more than 580,000 euros on average; meanwhile, in Madrid, they cost 412,000 euros and in Castilla La-Mancha you can buy one for 122,147 euros.

For the time being, the prices of new build homes in Spain are resisting the threat of the crisis generated by the coronavirus and are continuing their upward path. During the third quarter of 2020, the average price of new homes for sale in Spain reached 1,753 euros per square metre, according to data recorded by the real estate big data platform Brainsre.

By region, the autonomous communities with the highest prices per square metre were the Balearic Islands, the only area where prices exceeded 3,000 euros per m² (at €3,092/m²); followed by Madrid, at €2,716/m², and País Vasco at €2,528/m2.
