Last year was characterised by increases in the leasing of office space. According to the consultancy firm Cushman & Wakefield, during 2021, 362,000 square meters were contracted in Madrid and 332,000 square meters in Barcelona.
In the Spanish capital, that figure represents an increase of 20% compared to 2020; whilst in the case of Barcelona, it represents a leap of 86%. The number of contracts signed in the two cities amounted to 285 and 264, respectively.
