2022 closed with good data in terms of leasing in the office sector. In Madrid and Barcelona, a total of 50,720 square metres were let, specifically 29,710 m2 in Madrid and 21,010 m2 in Barcelona. That represented growth of 21% compared to the total space leased during 2021 (42,080 m2), according to data from the consultancy JLL.
In addition, the leasing of flexible office space now accounts for 6% of the total office leasing market in Madrid and Barcelona, which amounted to 841,119 m2 at the end of 2022.
