Covid-19 has caused a catastrophe in the Spanish economy that has spread to the real estate sector. And it has accelerated some of the upward trends, such as the boom in the residential rental segment.
In recent months, we have observed that some projects, initially planned for sale, are now going to be dedicated to rental, due to the potential slowdown in transactional activity. Investment funds and real estate companies alike are strongly backing rental housing and many are now launching projects using the build to rent formula.
