The Ins and Outs of Paseo de Gracia After Coronavirus

The price of rental housing has fallen by 9% and that of new housing has decreased by 4% on the famous Catalan thoroughfare since the outbreak of the pandemic, however, commercial premises have withstood the crisis better.

The iconic avenue in Barcelona, a showcase for outstanding modernist architecture, is made up of majestic residential buildings and luxurious shops. In fact, the Paseo de Gràcia is one of the most expensive streets in Spain to buy or rent a flat or commercial premises.

During the third quarter of the year, the average price of rental housing stood at €16.8/m2 per month -the lowest since 2016- in the Ensanche district, where Paseo de Gràcia is located. This represents a drop of 8.7% compared to the first quarter, when average prices amounted to €18.4/m2 per month, according to data collected by the real estate big data platform Brains RE.
