The Hotel Sector in 2021: Hundreds of New Openings and €800 Million in Imminent Sales

The hotel sector is expected to close the year with an investment of around 800 million euros, well below initial forecasts made in January of 1.7 billion euros. In 2021, we can expect to see more than 100 new openings and the signing of a multitude of operations that are already underway.

2020 is ending with very different results to those predicted by industry experts at the beginning of the year. The emergence of Covid-19 has hit certain segments, such as hotels and retail, hard but has boosted others, such as logistics and build to rent.

With just a few days to go before the end of one of the most difficult years in living memory, the consulting firms predict that 2021 will be marked by the beginning of a recovery in the hotel sector, with price decreases and new asset openings.
