The owner of the Hotel Fairmont Juan Carlos I in Barcelona and the Palacio de Congresos de Cataluña has just filed for pre-bankruptcy.
A few months ago, the iconic hotel in Barcelona was put up for sale, for a symbolic price of one euro; in exchange, the buyer will have to take on its large associated debt. The tourism and hotel sector has been one of the hardest hit by the Covid-19 health crisis, which has led to numerous companies putting their assets up for sale.
