The Government Will Allocate €2 Billion to Housing Between Now and 2023

The Minister for Transport, José Luis Ábalos, has again revised the figure that will be allocated to Housing from the EU pot, which he now says will be 2 billion euros over two years.

The Minister responsible for Housing, José Luis Ábalos, specified on Wednesday in the Congress of Deputies that the Government will allocate an extra 2 billion euros to housing policies from the additional 10 million euros that Spain will receive from the European Commission between 2021 and 2023.

The figure comes as a surprise because, just a few weeks ago, Pedro Saura, Secretary of State for Transport, Mobility and the Urban Agenda, explained that 6.32 billion euros were going to be allocated to the Department of Urban Rehabilitation and Regeneration, and 1 billion euros to the Affordable Housing Plan, to which the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, referred during the signing of an agreement with Sareb.
