The Minister for Development, José Luis Ábalos, has corrected the decision to open only five airports in Spain for the arrival of foreign travellers. Since Monday (18 May), the airports in Tenerife South, Alicante, Sevilla, Menorca, Ibiza, Valencia, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote have also been operational, pursuant to an extraordinary BOE published on Sunday. They join those in Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona El Prat, Gran Canaria, Málaga and Palma de Mallorca.
Andalucía, the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands and the Community of Valencia had all requested to expand the list of designated airports with capacity to handle the health emergency caused by the expansion of Covid-19, as revealed by the ministerial order.
