The Official State Gazette (BOE) has published a modification to the Royal Decree approved in December that prohibits evictions until the end of the State of Emergency. Now, the Executive is modifying two of the six assumptions that the decree included to suspend evictions in favour of squatters.
The inclusion of these changes comes as something of a surprise and is generating controversy across Spain, along with fear in the sector. That has been reflected by the ratings agency Moody’s, which has warned of the impact on investment of the new law against evictions.
