The Government Considers Extending the Veto Over Evictions Beyond January 2021

Evictions are currently prohibited until 31 January and the Executive is considering changing the rules to prolong the extraordinary measures.

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has assured that evictions will be prohibited in Spain until 31 January and that “steps may be taken over the coming months” to prolong those extraordinary measures, which the Executive adopted to tackle to the crisis resulting from the pandemic.

That is according to comments made during an online press conference that Mr. Sánchez held in Moncloa after the G20 Summit on Sunday. Specifically, he stated that the Government “is aware of the situation.”
