‘Form part of the solution by contributing some of your wealth’. That is the latest proposal that the Government chaired by Pedro Sánchez has made to large owners of rental homes in Spain to achieve their commitment to the difficult task of improving access to housing in the country.
José Luis Ábalos, the Minister for Transport and the Urban Agenda and the person responsible for housing in Spain, has held meetings with the two main associations of rental homeowners: Asipa, which groups together large property owners such as Colonial and Merlin, as well as owners of residential portfolios such as Azora and Vivenio; and Asval, which is led by the former mayor of Barcelona Joan Clos alongside Beatriz Toribio.
