
As of 1 January 2020, 47,431,256 people were registered in the ‘Continuous Register’ (Padrón Continuo) in Spain, which represented an increase of 0.9%, or 405,048 more people, compared to the same date in 2019, according to the Preliminary Continuous Register statistics published on Tuesday by Spain’s National Institute of Statistics (INE).
Of the total population of Spain, 42,008,058 have Spanish nationality, accounting for 88.6% of the total; whilst 11.4% are foreigners, in other words, 5,423,198 people.
